With your Mettle bank account, you can get access to FreeAgent’s accounting software made for UK small businesses. This partnership can save you time, energy and more than £150 a year (based on FreeAgent’s lowest annual subscription).
It’s easy to claim your FreeAgent account. You can sign up anytime through your Mettle app, but you need to make at least one transaction a month from your Mettle account.

Head to your Mettle app
On your Account screen, tap ‘Connections’
Find FreeAgent on the list - look for the little wings!
Tell us if you’re new to FreeAgent or already have an account
You’ll need to agree to share your Mettle data with FreeAgent to make your set-up as fast as possible. If you’re creating a new account, this’ll sync your details for sign-up, so you only have to fill in a couple of extra fields to get up and running. If you already have an account, sharing your data will immediately pull your Mettle transactions into FreeAgent, so you can easily track money coming in and out.
Already have FreeAgent?
From your Mettle app, you’ll just need to select ‘I already have a FreeAgent account’ and then log in when prompted.
You can also connect to Mettle from inside your FreeAgent account. Make sure you’ve already connected your Mettle bank feed, and then go to your Radar menu (it’s the bell icon in the top right). You should see a prompt saying ‘You’re eligible for a free subscription!’ in this list and follow the on-screen instructions to connect them.
How does it work?
You have to make one transaction a month from your Mettle account. If you don't do this, we'll be in touch to prompt you to make a transaction.
If you don’t make one transaction a month or if your Mettle account is closed, and you continue to use FreeAgent, you’ll be charged FreeAgent’s usual fees.
