Today we’re pleased to announce that you can now use your Mettle card with Apple Pay to make purchases wherever you see the contactless logo or Apple Pay mark.
This means that instead of using your physical card, you can pay using the Apple devices you use every day. All you have to do is add your Mettle card to Apple Wallet.
Adding your Mettle Card to Apple Wallet
You can add your Mettle card to Apple Wallet in the Mettle app. From your Account screen, tap ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ and select the device on which you’d like to activate your Mettle card.
Alternatively, you can add your Mettle card from Apple Wallet.
On your iPhone, open Apple Wallet and tap ‘+’ to add your Mettle card.
On your Apple Watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’, then ‘Add Credit or Debit Card’.
On your iPad, go to Settings, tap ‘Wallet & Apple Pay’ and then ‘Add Credit or Debit Card’.
On your Mac, go to system preferences, tap 'Wallet & Apple Pay' and then 'Add Credit or Debit Card'.
Is Apple Pay secure?
Yes, Apple Pay is more secure than physical card payments. Your data privacy is protected with security features that ensure that your card transactions are not shared with the merchant or stored on your device.
Additionally, to use Apple Pay, you'll need to have biometric authentication (Touch ID and Face ID) or a passcode set up on your device.
Now more than ever, Apple Pay is a better way to pay with your Mettle card. It’s contactless, safe and easy. And it keeps you from having to touch physical buttons or exchange cash when you’re out getting what you need. Just look for the contactless logo or Apple Pay mark.
New to Apple Pay?
No need to carry your physical card. Just set up your Mettle card in your Apple Wallet and you’re ready to pay with the Apple devices you use every day.
Apple Pay has all the benefits of contactless but without the £45 limit. And it’s safer too – your card number isn’t stored on your device or shared with the merchant.
